Following the recent communication to all Glacier Storms River Traverse 2021 participants, we have consulted with the relevant authorities and role players regarding the extended Level 4 restrictions and the impact it has on social gatherings and sporting events. We were hoping for good news, but unfortunately, that is not the case.
With Level 4 lockdown being extended by two weeks and with no clarity around what to expect going forward, we were left with no other option but to cancel the 2021 event.
Caring for health and wellbeing
This decision was not taken lightly and we would’ve preferred to avoid it at all costs. Our primary concern is your health and wellbeing, as well as those of our crew members and support service employees. Unfortunately, the current pandemic wave cannot be ignored and we will do whatever we can to prevent the spread.
Looking ahead to 2022
Be assured, we are committed to hosting this event in the style to which you are accustomed. We promise that, once again, we will offer superior quality and that it will be a highlight on your sporting calendar. We look forward to planning and hosting an enjoyable Glacier Storms River Traverse 2022, that exceeds your expectations.
